In the Bible, a Nazir, or ‘Nazarite’, is a man or woman who voluntarily takes a vow to abstain from wine (and other grape products), as well as refrain from cutting the hair on their head, in order to completely yield themselves to God.
Beautiful soul searching post, it reminded me of the idea/story that we once were fully male and female, and with the displeasure of a God we were separated into two beings, one fully male and the other fully female. Thus we now spend our time on earth looking for our separated other half, we need to become whole again. Such as Rapunzel and her prince.
I found myself looking at the boy and girl Rapunzel gave birth to, and sensed depth and meaning to that fact, but couldn't quite pinpoint it. So I moved on. It seems you picked up on it in your own way, which is a pleasant surprise. There's just *something* about that rupture, a division against oneself which splits their masculine and feminine aspects apart.
An interesting link between (facial) hair and masculinity as well as creativity and 'being an outcast in society'. I had similar reactions from my spouse when my hair grew reasonably long. But apperently it makes my head look too big 😂. Now I'm motivated to be a bit 'scruffy' again. Let's see

Thanks, Lauren.

Yes, mythology holds so much power to help make sense of our lives. Those stories lasted through the ages for good reason.
Perhaps 'scruffy' is part of who you are! If so, who's to argue with that?
I LOVE THIS!!!
